Watershed Church Monthly Newsletter | May 2026 | 10th Edition
A Note from Pastor David:
As we enjoy the Spring weather and the blessings of recent rainfall, let’s remember that all of our life is made up of seasons. April showers bring May flowers. Our next message series is called “Seasons of Life”. The month of May will be a great time to spiritual evaluate what season of life you are in and what to do with it. Taken from Ecclesiastes 3:1-9 we will approach the subject with a greater understanding that seasons make up our life. How we live through them says a lot about your faith in Jesus. We will be giving you an acrostic to work for the season of life that you might be facing. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 talks about running the race. Our race is the race of life. Each of us RUN! Use this acrostic to help you RUN in which ever season you find yourself. Refresh. Unite. Navigate. Join us each Sunday in May as we learn to RUN! We have two special opportunities in the series: On Mother’s Day we will hear from our Staff Wives on Seasons of Motherhood. And on Memorial Day weekend we will have Joshua Edwards here to talk about Seasons of Change. Don’t miss any Sunday in May!
Spring Life Groups were fantastic! We had more people involved and more actually groups than ever before. We hope to continue that trend. Easter brought some 450 people to our church facility not counting those who might have been watching online. This Easter was an all time record for us! Our message series and theme have been a constant reminder that we must continue to move forward in our mission. Hopefully, you have found yourself getting unstuck, cleaning out the clutter, and learning to forgive. “To make disciples” is the priority, and all of these tools help us to better accomplish our mission. F.I.T. is our new class for those who are looking to find their place at Watershed. F.I.T. comes every month with three short classes. The next class starts Sunday, May 17th at 10am. And VBS is just around the corner! It’s going to be a special year as we Illuminate!
May also reminds us that summer is just around the corner. While you are probably eagerly looking forward to your summer activities and vacation, please put our church budget in your prayer and plans. Budget dollars in the summer go flat. Expenses skyrocket. We do our best to manage, but you could significantly help the process by automating your giving. Setting the gifts you send to be automatic each time really helps us to plan better and to have a more consistent income stream through the summer months. You can set the giving to weekly, monthly, every two weeks (26 times a year), or twice a month (24 times a year). The idea is to set the schedule that works for you and your pay schedule. My wife, Laurie, receives her salary every other week. I receive mine twice a month. How do we tithe with that set up? We calculated the total salary for the year, then divided by 12 for the months. We decided to break up our tithe twice a month so that on the months when the income is less/more we can budget better. Hopefully, you can figure yours out and follow a consistent plan. Your tithes and offerings are much appreciated!
Speaking of tithes and offerings, how are we doing on our Capital Campaign called Legacy X. As of May 1, we have paid down the debt considerably. We started the year with $1,576,762.85. How much have we paid off? Our current balance is $1,418,842.68. That is $157,938.17. Pat yourself on the back and raise your hands in praise to the Lord! We have long ways to go, but inch by inch, cent by cent…we will get there! One of the recent advances we have seen is that our rate on the loan changed. The rate fell by .25%. Yeah, not much…but I decided to keep our payment the same placing the additional dollars each month toward the principal. So now we are putting an additional $1612.38 each month toward our debt. Remember every dollar you give to Legacy X goes straight to principal!
OUR SUMMER GOAL: Could we set a summer goals? May through August.
Three pieces:
1. Maintain budget giving ($50,000/month). We are about $35,000 behind year to date.
2. Pay off more loan debt. Could we get under $1.4 million? Raise $26,426.89+.
3. Support missions love offering. The principle of generosity means that we always are thinking of others. Two churches outside of Watershed desperately need our support. Let’s take up love offering for two mission works. The Hills, San Marcos, CA. and our Church in Prague.
I know these goals and the mission is a BIG ask, but we must keep going. The Overflow will be updated each month. WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER if everyone does their part! Thanks again for all the ways you support Watershed!

Giving Matters
In 2025, we launched the Legacy X capital campaign as a step of faith toward the future of Watershed. This campaign is about creating space for people, ministry, and continued growth. Your generosity plays a real role in helping us move forward together.
Care and Prayer
2025 marked the launch of our Care Ministry. Through hospital visits, home visits, and moments of need, our care team stepped in to support people right where they were. Alongside this, our prayer ministry continued to grow, faithfully lifting up needs and covering our church in prayer.
Honoring Our Volunteers
From Missions, Front of House, Kids, Youth, Prayer, Care, Worship, Productions, and Safety, along with every other team that serves behind the scenes, your commitment helped make disciples and build community at Watershed.
